Calvary Church
Calvary Church is the Local Expression of the Universal Church of the Lord Jesus Christ
Calvary Church seeks to provide opportunities for corporate and private worship of God, fellowship among the believers, nurturing and promoting of the spiritual growth of each believer through spiritual care and the preaching and teaching of the Word, thus enabling the believer to fulfil the mandate given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20.
Calvary Church Damansara Heights was consecrated to the glory of God on 11 February, 1968 through the efforts of dedicated missionaries.
In 1972, Rev. Tan Sri Dr. Prince Guneratnam and Puan Sri Dr. Petrina Guneratnam accepted the call to be Senior Pastors of Calvary Church, wholeheartedly giving of themselves to fulfill God's vision for the Church.
From a congregation of 120 regularly attending the Damansara Heights services, the Church has grown exponentially to establishing over 31 daughter churches. The building of Calvary Convention Centre was God's call to fulfill its new millennium role and responsibility to be a Jesus Generation, an Equipping Institution, and a Sending Church impacting our world for Jesus Christ.
Calvary Church is a Fountainhead Church
A fountainhead is a wellspring, from which streams of tributaries flow to reach far and wide. Calvary Church is where the ministries of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will emerge, reaching out to communities, cities, nations and to the ends of the world.
Our Mission
A JESUS GENERATION To be a chosen generation that possesses the ministry of prophet, priest and king. (1 Peter 2:9-12).
We are prophets who declare the glorious Gospel message.
We are priests to stand in the gap as intercessors.
We are kings that rule the members of our bodies into subjection and are led by the Spirit. (Romans 6:12-13 & 8:14)
An Equipping Institution
To equip the believers for service through education and training. "... Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-14).
A Sending Church
To be evangelistic and missionary. We believe God for numerical growth by multiplication, to plant churches and to be a missionary sending church through providing greater equipping opportunities by having multi-ministries. The Bible says, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20).
