About CGI Conference 2022

The 29th CGI Conference, held for the growth of churches around the world, was held from Oct. 15th to 20th at Yoido Full Gospel Church and Osanri Choi Ja-sil Memorial Fasting Prayer Center.
Influential spiritual leaders from around the world, including Dr. David Yonggi Cho and commissioned Dr. Younghoon Lee, appeared as lecturers and shared their vision for the growth of the world church.
Numerous pastors from 48 countries attended seven seminars during the conference and the 2019 Prayer Crusade for Spiritual Revival and Peace on the Korean Peninsula held at KINTEX in Ilsan.
This conference is in its 28th year and consists of a more enriching program, instilling full gospel spirituality and a vision for church growth in pastors from all over the world.
It attracted a lot of interest even before the start of the competition, with 1,920 people from 48 countries pre-registering.
On Oct. 16th, the CGI Conference opening service was held in the main sanctuary. On this day, the 89th Cell Group leaders’ Seminar was also held. Dr. Younghoon Lee said, “I consider it an honor to be able to hold a crusade with great Christian leaders from all over the world. When we pray together for the spiritual revival and peace on the Korean Peninsula, God will answer our prayers.” “And we will see a great revival all over the world. May the Lord richly bless you all.” he said, welcoming attendees to the Conference.
Dr. Cho preached on ‘the power of prayer’ based on Philippians 4:6-7 and said, “When faced with various problems in life, people of God should not worry but move forward in prayer.” He continued, “When we pray, God protects our hearts and thoughts and always answers us. Great things are accomplished through those who pray. If we pray, we can overcome everything. Nothing is impossible with God.” He also emphasized, “When you leave all your worries to God and pray with gratitude, God will solve all your problems.”
After the sermon, Far East Broadcasting Chairman Pastor Kim Jang-hwan gave a congratulatory address, and a loud prayer led by Dr. Lee followed. CGI members and believers who filled the main sanctuary chanted “Lord” three times and prayed fervently ‘for the growth and ministry of the church’ and ‘for spiritual revival and peace on the Korean Peninsula.’
On the 16th and 17th, a CGI conference seminar was held at Paul’s chapel to discuss global mission plans and present a vision for church growth. Influential Christian leaders from around the world, including Dr. Cho and Dr. Lee, delivered the principles of revival. The seminar was interpreted into Spanish, French, Russian, and Korean, and ministers from our church also attended and learned the principles of church growth.
At the seminar, Dr. Cho delivered a sermon under the title, 'What I have I give to you' (Acts 3:1-10) and said, "If you clearly know what you have, you will be freed from worry and fear and confidence will develop in your heart. In the name of Jesus, despair will be overcome." “You can kick yourself out of your seat and stand up with strength,” he emphasized. He declared, “Because we have the knowledge of salvation, we can live a healthy life with good health in our souls and prosperity in all things.” He also said, "It is important for Christians to have experiential knowledge of the Holy Spirit. No matter what situation we face, God is with us, so we must move forward with faith." Lastly, he emphasized that, as a child loved by God, we must spread love to our neighbors.
Dr. Lee explained the ‘secret of church growth’ (Acts 2:42-47) and emphasized that the most important thing in church growth is the ministry of the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit. He continued, “There must be a strong message in the growth of the church. We must proclaim the cross of Jesus Christ,” and urged participants to always remember that the cross is the foundation and core of our faith. He also emphasized that prayer is the key to revival and emphasized the importance of positive faith. He also spoke about the ministry of sharing and serving, said, "Our church spends a third of its budget every year for relief. When we share what we have with our poor neighbors and dedicate ourselves to missions, we can achieve the rapid church growth."
In addition, as a seminar lecturer, Dr. Seong-hye Kim (President of Hansei University) spoke on ‘Let’s become a charcoal of revival,’
CGI Conference attendees attended the 2019 Prayer Crusade for Spiritual Revival and Peace on the Korean Peninsula held at KINTEX in Ilsan on the 18th and prayed with earnest hearts along with the congregation of Yoido Full Gospel church(YFGC). On the 19th, participants experienced the Prayer Mt grottos and learned about YFGC's Holy Spirit movement and prayer movement.
